Having various medical purposes, Medical Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is stored and delivered by SOAL in specially treated steel cylinders having various capacities (6 and 20 Kg) as a colorless liquid in equilibrium with the gas phase pressurized to  approximately 50 bars at room temperature.

Medical CO2 is used as a pure gas or in specialized mixtures with other gases in stimulating breathing, anesthesia and the sterilization of equipment.

It can also be used as an insufflation gas for minimal invasive surgeries, such as laparoscopy, endoscopy and arthroscopy, to enlarge and stabilize body cavities for better visibility of the surgical field.

It is also essential for Assisted Reproductive Technology including in vitro fertilization (IVF) to preserve the incubators PH. In its liquid phase, medical carbon dioxide can be used to provide temperatures down to -76° C, for cryotherapy or for local analgesia.
